David Lourie

Organizational Risk Management

David Lourie is an experienced, results-driven business, regulatory, and litigation attorney.  He is passionate about helping businesses and individuals address legal issues to get the results they deserve and has extensive experience interpreting and promoting compliance with laws and regulations.  He has frequently represented clients in complex business regulatory matters, employment disputes, and legal compliance matters, as well as in estate planning.  In the process, David has gained experience working closely with organizations and individuals on legal matters across the country.

Further, in the growth equity space, he has focused on building successful, high-performance companies with strong organizational cultures and ensuring that organizations are compliant with laws and regulations.  As a result of this work, David has become highly skilled counseling businesses in employment law, environmental law, and organizational culture building.

David has utilized his knowledge to teach at several universities and law schools.  He teaches Organizational Risk Management, Securities Law, Negotiation Skills, Organizational Behavior, and Human Resource Management at Northwestern University, the University of Southern California Law School, Cornell University, and Western Colorado University.  He is a published author of a book on negotiation skills and has spoken at legal and compliance conferences throughout the country.

David also has extensive in-house experience as a business attorney.  For over four years, he was the Chief Compliance Officer of a successful private equity firm where he oversaw all the firm’s legal and compliance matters.  Additionally, he has worked as a consultant to hedge funds, investment advisers, and private equity firms to improve their legal and compliance programs.

David graduated cum laude from Northwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with Departmental Honors.  He received his J.D. in 2010 from the University of Southern California Law School, where he served on the Southern California Law Review and graduated in the top 10% of his class.  Following his graduation from the University of Southern California Law School, David served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Tu M. Pham, a federal judge in the Western District of Tennessee.

David is admitted to practice law in Missouri and New York.  When not practicing law, David enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family.  He is also an avid hiker and runner.
